Det er lett å miste håpet når jeg leser nyheter, noe jeg bruker en del tid på. Jeg har lett for å bli opprørt over elendigheten i verden. Ikke sjelden møter jeg også triste ting i hverdagen. Opphopning av elendighet kan føre til handling som leder til forandring. Noen ganger gjør det vonde meg bare rasende og handlingslammet. Men det tjener ingen om jeg skriver om "alt håp ute"-opplevelser.
Når det vonde i verden overskygger alt det gode som fins, er det likevel et faktum at verden består av uendelig mye kjærlighet, kunnskap, hundevalper, kjærester, besteforeldre, musikk og hardt arbeid. Du må bare aktivt sjekke det ut. Møte det gode universet med glede.
Jeg mener ikke at du skal omdannes til en gledes-zombie som driter doble regnbuer og som synes alt er fantastisk uten å tenke eller stille spørsmål. Jeg vil bare minne deg om at det finnes en flott verden der ute og at det er mye bra å oppleve.
Det ligger en kraft i den enkeltes frie valg. Du kan velge hva som skal påvirke deg, tenke gjennom hva du vil ta inn og fordøye. Hvorfor lese overfladiske nettnyheter og dårlig skrevne blogger når du kan abonnere på kunnskapsbaserte tidsskrifter? Hvorfor bruke tid på å surfe YouTube etter rare hunder eller folk som faller ned trapper når du kan lese en god bok? Velg hjemmelaget mat fremfor en Mac-burger, heng ute med venner i stedet for å chatte med dem på Facebook. Slåss for en sak du tror på i stedet for "bitching about it" i bloggen din.
