Det har vært helvetes varmt i sommer. I Russland. Russerne har i følge NRK-korrespondent Hans Wilhelm Steinfeldt søkt skygge blant skogens trær og drukket sin vodka. Det blir det mange branner av. 600 branner. Da blir det enda varmere. 

Det har regnet mye i sommer. I Pakistan. Landet har aldri opplevd så mye regn før. Det blir det flom av. Mennesker drukner, 20 millioner i Swatdalen er rammet av flommen. Vannbårne sykdommer gjør seg nå gjeldende. Mangelen på mat og rent vann er påtagelig. 35.000 kvinner i dette området skal føde sine barn de neste ukene. Generalsekretær Børge Brende i Norges Røde Kors  ble intervjuet på TV2 lørdag. Han virket trett og oppgitt. Finnes det håp? Verdenssamfunnet kan gjøre noe.
